Dominican Republic Joins Lisbon System as 30th Member

WIPO Director General Francis Gurry accepted the Dominican Republic’s instrument of accession to WIPO’s Lisbon System for the International Registration of Appellations of Origin from Manuel Diaz Franjul, Director for Trade Negotiations, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dominican Republic.

The Dominican Republic is the 30th member of WIPO’s International System of Appellations of Origin, which offers a means of obtaining protection for an appellation of origin in the contracting parties to the Lisbon Agreement through a single registration and one set of fees.
